XenApp Administration Console

The console is designed to run on a Citrix XenApp 6.5 server with the Mobility Pack installed. For instructions on how to install the Mobility Pack, refer to the following link:

http://support.citrix.com/proddocs/topic/mobility-pack/ps-mobility-pack-install.html

The console is a .NET 4.0 app, so you will need to install .NET 4.0 on your XenApp server as well. The CMP.NET SDK that the console uses requires .NET 3.5 SP1, however that is installed by default on Windows 2008 servers.

Publishing the console

Copy the following binaries to the XenApp server:
  • Citrix.CMP.dll
  • Citrix.CMP.WPF.dll
  • Citrix.Management.Automation.dll
  • Citrix.XenApp.SDK.dll
  • Interop.CitrixMobility.dll
  • XenAppAdminForMobile.exe
Publish the "XenAppAdminForMobile.exe" using the XenApp admin console. You need to perform one additional step in the publishing wizard:
  • Set the "Application Description" field to "keywords:mobile".
This special keyword is detected by the Citrix Receiver and applies special behavior for apps designed for use on mobile devices:
  • The session resolution is set to match the resolution of the client device.
  • The receiver sets its input processing mode to best suit apps designed for mobile devices.

Running the console on your workstation

You can also run the console on your Win 7 workstation and connect remotely to XenApp servers. However you will need to install the XenApp 6.5 PowerShell SDK on your workstation. For information on how to install the XenApp PowerShell SDK follow this link:

http://community.citrix.com/display/xa/XenApp+6.5+Powershell+SDK

To make the console connect to a remote XenApp server, select the settings cog on the top right of the main page. This will open a new page that allows you to enter in the name of a custom XenApp server to connect to.

Citrix Mobile Application SDK

The documentation for the Citrix Mobile Application SDK is available from the Citrix website:

http://www.citrix.com/mobilitysdk/docs/

It contains samples and documentation for all the versions of the SDK (COM, C/C++, .NET).
